Smartworks designs and provides arts education programs in the moving image, visual arts, music, dance and theater to NYC public school students in grades k through 12. Smartworks’ programs increase the basic academic and communication skills of public school students through innovative multidisciplinary approaches to art education.
 Smartworks’ programs are linked to the academic curriculum, are inspired by NYC’s DOE Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts, and are aligned with the Common Core standards. Additionally, Smartworks provides professional development workshops to NYC public school teachers in ways to integrate the arts into the curriculum. After school programs, as well as in-school art workshops that include the families of the students, are also provided.
