AT SCHOOLS:

Smartworks offers arts enrichment programs whereby trained and experienced teaching artists visit schools to conduct curriculum-based art workshops in collaboration with the classroom teacher. Curiosity, creativity, and expression are fostered through the creation of beautiful works of art.

Smartworks designs and provides arts education programs in the moving image, visual arts, music, dance and theater to NYC public school students in grades k through 12. Smartworks’ programs increase the basic academic and communication skills of public school students through innovative multidisciplinary approaches to art education.

Smartworks’ programs are linked to the academic curriculum, and align with the NYC DOE Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts.

Additionally, Smartworks provides professional development workshops to NYC public school teachers in ways to integrate the arts into the curriculum. After school programs, as well as in-school art workshops that include the families of the students, are also provided.
