THEATER Students write and perform original works based on their academic curriculum, original narratives, and continuation or adaptation of a book assigned to the class. Comedy, drama, and musicals are explored. Excelling in speech communication is often a priority. RECENT PROJECTS •Students adapted and performed Persephone: exploring dramatic structure, learning performance exercises, expanding literacy skills and improving public speaking. •Students reenacted a conflict resolution session (with the advice of student conflict mediators) where subjective perception was heightened for dramatic and comic purposes, demonstrating “the Rashomon effect.” •Students wrote and performed “12-easy steps to becoming a superhero,” an original comedy.
